Govardhana-dhāraṇa: Kṛṣṇa Lifts Govardhana and Humbles Indra
तथा निर्विविशुर्गर्तं कृष्णाश्वासितमानस: । यथावकाशं सधना: सव्रजा: सोपजीविन: ॥ २२ ॥
tathā nirviviśur gartaṁ kṛṣṇāśvāsita-mānasaḥ yathāvakāśaṁ sa-dhanāḥ sa-vrajāḥ sopajīvinaḥ
Thus reassured by Lord Kṛṣṇa, their hearts grew calm, and all entered beneath the hill. There they found ample space for themselves, their cows, wagons, servants, priests, and the entire community of Vraja.
All the domestic animals of Vṛndāvana were brought beneath Govardhana Hill for shelter.
This verse shows that when the Vraja residents were frightened, Kṛṣṇa reassured their hearts and they safely took shelter together, indicating His direct protection and guidance in crisis.
All the Vraja-vāsīs enter the shelter along with their possessions, their community and cattle, and even those who depended on them—showing collective refuge under Kṛṣṇa’s care.
In anxiety or danger, seek steadiness by remembering and trusting the Lord’s protection; calm, faith-filled action follows when the heart is reassured through devotion.
