The Lord’s Advent: Yoga-māyā’s Mission, Saṅkarṣaṇa’s Transfer, and the Demigods’ Prayers
सन्दिष्टैवं भगवता तथेत्योमिति तद्वच: । प्रतिगृह्य परिक्रम्य गां गता तत् तथाकरोत् ॥ १४ ॥
sandiṣṭaivaṁ bhagavatā tathety om iti tad-vacaḥ pratigṛhya parikramya gāṁ gatā tat tathākarot
Thus instructed by Bhagavān, Yoga-māyā at once assented, saying “So be it,” and confirmed it with the Vedic sound “om.” Accepting His command, she circumambulated the Lord and departed for Nanda-gokula on earth, where she carried out everything exactly as she had been told.
After receiving the orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Yoga-māyā twice confirmed her acceptance by saying, “Yes, sir, I shall do as You order,” and then saying om. Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura comments that om signifies Vedic confirmation. Thus Yoga-māyā very faithfully received the Lord’s order as a Vedic injunction. It is a fact that whatever is spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead is a Vedic injunction that no one should neglect. In Vedic injunctions there are no mistakes, illusions, cheating or imperfection. Unless one understands the authority of the Vedic version, there is no purpose in quoting śāstra. No one should violate the Vedic injunctions. Rather, one should strictly execute the orders given in the Vedas. As stated in Bhagavad-gītā (16.24) :
This verse shows Yogamāyā immediately accepting Bhagavān’s order, honoring Him with circumambulation, and executing His plan exactly—illustrating her role as the Lord’s divine internal potency arranging His līlā.
She verbally accepted His instruction with reverence—“tathā” (so be it) and “Om” (a sacred assent)—signifying complete obedience and devotional acknowledgment of His supreme will.
Receive guidance with humility, respond with respectful commitment, and follow through faithfully—turning devotion into action rather than mere intention.
