Brahmā’s Prayers to Lord Kṛṣṇa (Brahmā-stuti) and the Restoration of Vraja’s Lunch Pastime
अहो भाग्यमहो भाग्यं नन्दगोपव्रजौकसाम् । यन्मित्रं परमानन्दं पूर्णं ब्रह्म सनातनम् ॥ ३२ ॥
aho bhāgyam aho bhāgyaṁ nanda-gopa-vrajaukasām yan-mitraṁ paramānandaṁ pūrṇaṁ brahma sanātanam
How astonishing, how boundless is the good fortune of Nanda Mahārāja, the cowherd men, and all the residents of Vraja! For the Absolute Truth—the eternal, perfect Supreme Brahman, source of transcendental bliss—has become their friend.
This translation is quoted from Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā, Chapter Six, text 149.
It declares that Nanda and the residents of Vraja are supremely fortunate because the Supreme Absolute—complete, eternal Brahman and the highest bliss—has become their intimate friend (Śrī Kṛṣṇa).
After being humbled by Kṛṣṇa’s display of inconceivable power, Brahmā offers prayers and realizes that the Vrajavāsīs possess the highest blessing: intimate love and friendship with the Supreme Lord, which even great cosmic authorities rarely attain.
It encourages cultivating a personal relationship with God through loving devotion—valuing closeness, service, and friendship with Kṛṣṇa over merely abstract or impersonal spirituality.
