Sukta 3
सनादग्ने मृणसि यातुधानान् न त्वा रक्षांसि पृतनासु जिग्युः । सहमूराननु दह क्रव्यादो मा ते हेत्या मुक्षत दैव्यायाः
sanā́d agne mṛṇasi yātudhā́nān ná tvā rákṣāṃsi pṛ́tanāsu jigyuḥ | sahamū́rān ánu daha kravyā́do mā́ te hetyā́ múkṣata daívyāyāḥ ||
From ancient time, O Agni, thou dost crush the Yātudhānas; the Rākṣases have not conquered thee in battles. Pursue and burn the flesh-devourers, with their confounding crew: let not the heavenly missile be loosed against thee.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often Atharvan/Angiras attribution for rakṣohāna hymns; exact r̥ṣi per Anukramaṇī to be verified by edition)
Devata: Agni (as Rakṣohā, demon-slayer)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh/Jagatī-type cadence (to be confirmed by metrical scan; Saunaka tradition often treats these as triṣṭubh-like)
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"vira","emotional_arc":"From ancient authority → battle-certainty → fierce pursuit and burning → cautious sealing against recoil.","listener_experience":"A surge of fierce protection and cleansing; sense of danger being driven out.","intensity":8}
