Mantra 1
सवनोति हि सुन्वन् क्षयं परीणसः सुन्वानो हि ष्मा यजत्यव द्विषो देवानामव द्विषः । सुन्वान इत् सिषासति सहस्रा वाज्यवृतः । सुन्वानायेन्द्रो ददात्याभुवं रयिं ददात्याभुवम्
For he who presseth winneth a dwelling free from want; the presser verily sacrificeth—he beateth down the haters of the Gods, yea, beateth down the haters. The presser, even he, seeketh to win thousands, encompassed round with prizes. To the presser Indra giveth thriving wealth—he giveth wealth that groweth evermore.
Mantra 2
मो षु वो अस्मदभि तानि पौंस्या सना भूवन् द्युम्नानि मोत जारिषुरस्मत् पुरोत जारिषुः । यद् वश्चित्रं युगेयुगे नव्यं घोषादमर्त्यम्। अस्मासु तन्मरुतो यच्च दुष्टृरं दिधृता यच्च दुष्टरम्
Let not those ancient manly powers turn hither against us; let the glories be for you. Let them not waste us, nor waste us aforetime. What wondrous might of yours, age after age, is ever new, deathless, born of the shout—O Maruts, set that within us: both what is hard to withstand, and what is hard to overpass.
Mantra 3
अग्निं होतारं मन्ये दास्वन्तं वसुं सूनुं सहसो जातवेदसं विप्रं न जातवेदसम्। य ऊर्ध्वया स्वध्वरो देवो देवाच्या कृपा। घृतस्य विभ्राष्टिमनु वष्टि शोचिषाजुह्वानस्य सर्पिषः
Agni I deem the Hotar, bounteous, a treasure, the Son of Might, Jātavedas—yea, the inspired Jātavedas; who, with his upward flame, the god of goodly rite, by favor of the Gods, with his bright blaze chooses after the gleaming ghee of him who pours the butter-offering.
Mantra 4
यज्ञैः समिश्लाः पृषतीभिरृष्टिभिर्यामं छुभ्रासो अञ्जिषु प्रिया उत। आसद्या बर्हिर्भरतस्य सूनवः पोत्रादा सोमं पिबता दिवो नरः
Mingled with sacrifices, with speckled mares, with spears—bright ones, dear in your adornments—draw nigh; having sat upon Bharata’s sacred grass, O Sons, from the Potar’s place drink ye the Soma, O heavenly heroes.
Mantra 5
आ वक्षि देवां इह विप्र यक्षि चोशन् होतर्नि षदा योनिषु त्रिषु। प्रति वीहि प्रस्थितं सोम्यं मधु पिबाग्नीध्रात् तव भागस्य तृष्णुहि
Bring hither the Gods, here, O inspired one; sacrifice, O willing Hotar; sit down in the three appointed seats. Receive the draught set forth, the Soma-sweet mead; drink from the Agnidh’s station: thirst for thine allotted share.
Mantra 6
एष स्य ते तन्वो नृम्णवर्धनः सह ओजः प्रदिवि बाह्वोर्हितः । तुभ्यं सुतो मघवन् तुभ्यमाभृतस्त्वमस्य ब्राह्मणादा तृपत् पिब
This, verily, for thy person is manliness-increasing—might, strength—set in the lofty heaven, laid in thine arms. For thee is it pressed, O Bounteous; for thee brought hither: from this sacred utterance be thou satisfied; drink unto fullness.
Mantra 7
यमु पूर्वमहुवे तमिदं हुवे सेदु हव्यो ददिर्यो नाम पत्यते । अध्वर्युभिः प्रस्थितं सोम्यं मधु पोत्रात् सोमं द्रविणोदः पिब ऋतुभिः
Whom erst I called, him now, even him, I call: he, worthy of oblation, the giver, by name is lord. The Soma-sweet draught, set forth by the Adhvaryus—Soma from the Potṛ’s place—drink thou, O bestower of treasure, in due seasons.
For prosperity with stability—winning a secure dwelling and increasing wealth—while also repelling hostile forces, within a soma-offering framework to Indra.
Indra is the main recipient who grants wealth and victory when pleased by soma; Agni is praised as the Hotṛ/Jātavedas who carries ghee offerings and ensures the sacrifice succeeds.
It refers to wealth that grows and keeps expanding—prosperity that increases over time rather than being a one-time gain.
