Sukta 23

trayódaśa-ṛ́cebhyaḥ svā́hā

Oblation—unto the thirteen ṛc-verses: Svāhā.

त्रयोदशर्चेभ्यःto/for the thirteen ṛc-verses (i.e., to the group of thirteen hymns/verses)
TypeNoun
(formula uttered at oblation)
TypeIndeclinable

Rishi: Anukramaṇī-dependent; for AVŚ 19.23 these are typically treated as ritual formulas rather than seer-driven poetry (exact r̥ṣi requires the hymn’s anukramaṇī).

Devata: The ‘ṛc-verses’ as a counted ritual recipient (metatextual devatā/portion); oblation is directed to the numbered set.

Chandas: Not a metrical verse in the strict sense; a yajus-like offering-formula (prose/short formula).
