Sukta 11

Mantra 1

शान्तिः। शं नः सत्यस्य पतयो भवन्तु शं नो अर्वन्तः शमु सन्तु गावः । शं न ऋभवः सुकृतः सुहस्ताः शं नो भवतु पितरो हवेषु

Peace. Weal unto us—may the lords of Truth be gracious; weal unto us—may our steeds be weal, yea, and may the cows be weal. Weal unto us—may the R̥bhus, skilful and good-handed, be gracious; weal unto us—may the Fathers be gracious at our invocations.

Mantra 2

शं नो देवा विश्वदेवा भवन्तु शं सरस्वती सह धीभिरस्तु । शमभिषाचः शमु रातिषाचः शं नो दिव्याः पार्थिवाः शं नो अप्याः

Weal unto us—may the gods, the All-Gods, be gracious; weal—may Sarasvatī, together with inspired thoughts, be gracious. Weal (be) from the bewitchers, weal, yea, from the bounty-spoilers; weal unto us from the heavenly, the earthly; weal unto us from the watery (powers).

Mantra 3

शं नो अज एकपाद् देवो अस्तु शमहिर्बुध्न्यः१ शं समुद्रः । शं नो अपां नपात् पेरुरस्तु शं नः पृश्निर्भवतु देवगोपा

Weal unto us—may the god Ajá Ekapād be gracious; weal (unto us)—may the Serpent of the Deep (be weal), weal (unto us) the Ocean. Weal unto us—may Apām Napāt, Péru, be gracious; weal unto us—may Pṛśni be gracious, god-guarded (or guarding the gods).

Mantra 4

आदित्या रुद्रा वसवो जुषन्तामिदं ब्रह्म क्रियमाणं नवीयः । शृण्वन्तु नो दिव्याः पार्थिवासो गोजाता उत ये यज्ञियासः

May Ādityas, Rudras, Vasus take pleasure in this prayer, now wrought anew. Let the heavenly and the earthly hear us—ye of cattle’s race as well, and all that are meet for sacrifice.

Mantra 5

ये देवानामृत्विजो यज्ञियासो मनोर्यजत्रा अमृता ऋतज्ञाः । ते नो रासन्तामुरुगायमद्य यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः

Ye who are priests of Gods, worthy of oblation—Manu’s adorable, immortal knowers of the Law—grant us, even to-day, the Wide-going One; and do ye ever guard us with your prospering safeties.

Mantra 6

तदस्तु मित्रावरुणा तदग्ने शं योरस्मभ्यमिदमस्तु शस्तम्। अशीमहि गाधमुत प्रतिष्ठां नमो दिवे बृहते सादनाय

So be it, Mitra-Varuṇa; so, Agni: let this be for us weal and welfare, a thing well approved. May we attain firm footing and establishment. Homage to lofty Heaven, the mighty Seat.
