Sukta 16
तस्य व्रात्यस्य ।योऽस्य द्वितीयोऽपानः साष्टका
tásya vrā́tyasya | yó ’sya dvitī́yo ’pānáḥ sá̄ṣṭakā
Of that Vratya: the second of his Apāna-breaths—this is the Aṣṭakā.
Rishi: Vratya-speculation tradition (often treated as Atharvanic/Angirasic in later indexing; hymn-level attribution varies by anukramaṇī)
Devata: Vratya (as cosmic person) / Prāṇa-functions (Apāna) / Ritual observances personified
Chandas: Mixed/prose-like Atharvanic style (not strictly metrical in the manner of RV anuṣṭubh)
