देवैर्दत्तं मनुना साकमेतद् वाधूयं वासो वध्वऽश्च वस्त्रम्। यो ब्रह्मणे चिकितुषे ददाति स इद् रक्षांसि तल्पानि हन्ति
deváiḥ dattáṃ mánunā sā́kam etád vādhū́yaṃ vā́so vadhvā́ś ca vástram | yó bráhmaṇe cikitúṣe dádāti sá íd rákṣāṃsi tálpāni hanti |
Given by the Gods, with Manu joined, is this—the bridal garment, the bride’s raiment. Whoso to the knowing Brahman gives it, he verily smites the demons from the beds.
