Sukta 2
देवा अग्रे न्यपद्यन्त पत्नीः समस्पृशन्त तन्वऽस्तनूभिः । सूर्येव नारि विश्वरूपा महित्वा प्रजावती पत्या सं भवेह
devā́ agre ny-àpadyanta pátnīḥ sám aspṛśanta tanvàs tanū́bhiḥ | sū́ryeva nāri viśvá-rūpā mahitvā́ prajā́vatī patyā́ sáṃ bhavéhá
The gods of old took wives and touched in union body with body. Like the Sun, O woman, manifold in form, in majesty—be here with thy husband wholly joined, rich in offspring.
Rishi: Ātharvaṇa bridal tradition.
Devata: Devas (as precedent), Sūrya (model), and the married pair as ritual subject.
Chandas: Likely Triṣṭubh/Jagatī-like expansion; domestic AV often uses longer pādas in such blessing verses.
{"primary_rasa":"shringara","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_arc":"From solemn precedent to warm, fruitful union.","listener_experience":"A sense of sanctified intimacy and confidence in the marriage bond.","intensity":5}
