एतौ मृतौ द्वावपि पुत्र रौद्र- मवीचिसंज्ञं नरकं प्रपन्नौ । अधीश्वरो मे जनकः परोऽस्य कृष्णः पिता द्वावपि दीर्घकालम् । अहं च शुद्धेन निजेन कर्मणा शक्रासनं प्रापितो दुर्लभं ततः ॥ ७.१८ ॥

etau mṛtau dvāv api putra raudra- avīcisaṃjñaṃ narakaṃ prapannau | adhīśvaro me janakaḥ paro 'sya kṛṣṇaḥ pitā dvāv api dīrghakālam | ahaṃ ca śuddhena nijena karmaṇā śakrāsanaṃ prāpito durlabhaṃ tataḥ || 7.18 ||

„Als jene beiden starben, o Sohn, fielen sie beide in die Hölle namens Avīci, einen schrecklichen Ort. Mein Vater ist der höchste Herr; und sein Vater ist Kṛṣṇa — beide für lange Zeit. Ich aber erlangte durch meine eigenen geläuterten Taten den schwer zu erlangenden Sitz des Śakra (Indra).“
