श्रीवराह उवाच । एवं चिन्तान्वितं मत्वा वरदो ब्राह्मणोऽभवत् । मोक्षार्थिनमथो बुद्ध्वा वञ्चयित्वा गतो मुनिः ॥ ३७.४४ ॥

śrīvarāha uvāca | evaṃ cintānvitam matvā varado brāhmaṇo 'bhavat | mokṣārthinam atho buddhvā vañcayitvā gato muniḥ || 37.44 ||

Śrī Varāha sprach: Als er erkannte, dass jener so von sorgenvoller Betrachtung erfüllt war, erschien der gnadenverleihende Brāhmaṇa. Dann, da er ihn als einen nach Mokṣa (Befreiung) Strebenden erkannte, täuschte der Weise ihn und ging fort.
