Section on the Origin and Procedure of Piṇḍa-Rites (Funerary Offerings) and Donor–Recipient Purification

प्रतिगृह्णन्ति ये तत्र प्रेतभागं विशेषतः ॥ अनिष्टं गर्हितं तत्र प्रेतेन सह भोजनम्

pratigṛhṇanti ye tatra pretabhāgaṁ viśeṣataḥ || aniṣṭaṁ garhitaṁ tatra pretena saha bhojanam

Wer dort—insbesondere—den dem Verstorbenen (preta) zugewiesenen Anteil annimmt, nimmt an einer Mahlzeit teil, die als unerwünscht und tadelnswert gilt, als ob er in Gemeinschaft mit dem Verstorbenen äße.
