The Origin of Fire and the Liturgical Names of Agni

किं च तासां मुने भोज्यं का वा संज्ञा तिथिश्च का । यस्याम् यष्टास्त्वमी पुंसां फलं यच्छन्त्यनामयम् । एतन्मे सरहस्यं तु मुने त्वं वक्तुमर्हसि ॥ १८.४ ॥

kiṃ ca tāsāṃ mune bhojyaṃ kā vā saṃjñā tithiś ca kā | yasyām yaṣṭās tv amī puṃsāṃ phalaṃ yacchanty anāmayam | etan me sa-rahasyaṃ tu mune tvaṃ vaktum arhasi || 18.4 ||

„Und ferner, o Weiser: welche Speisegabe (bhojya) ist für jene Observanzen angemessen? Wie lautet ihre Bezeichnung, und welcher tithi (Mondtag) ist maßgeblich? An welchem tithi, wenn Menschen diese Opferhandlungen vollziehen, verleihen sie eine Frucht frei von Leiden? Dies — samt seinem geheimen inneren Grund — o Weiser, sollst du mir darlegen.“
