Skanda (deduced from Prabhāsa-khaṇḍa māhātmya narration style)

Tirtha: Vastrāpatha-kṣetra

Type: kshetra

Scene: A sick pilgrim supported by companions walks within the tīrtha precinct; he collapses or passes away before reaching the deity’s shrine, yet a subtle divine radiance indicates the tīrtha’s unseen grace granting the fruit of ‘darśana’.

FAQs

The sanctity of a tīrtha is intrinsic; sincere arrival and contact with the sacred place itself is credited with merit, even when circumstances prevent full darśana.

Vastrāpatha-kṣetra in the Prabhāsa region, within the Skanda Purāṇa’s tīrtha-māhātmya narrative.

No specific rite is prescribed here; the verse emphasizes tīrtha-saṃcaraṇa (pilgrimage movement/visit) and its credited fruit.
