Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī
Scene: The maiden stands firm, palm raised in gentle refusal (abhaya/niṣedha gesture), face calm; a subtle aura of tapas surrounds her, contrasting with the other’s agitation; the sea and tīrtha atmosphere remain serene.
Vows (vrata) and self-restraint are upheld as dharmic means to achieve one’s rightful aims, superior to indulgence in passion.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, where the power of vrata and purity is showcased within the māhātmya.
Kaumāra-vrata (a vow of maidenhood/celibacy) is explicitly affirmed as the chosen discipline.
