Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 36

आश्वयुक्छुक्लपक्षे या अष्टमी मूलसंयुता । सा महानामिका प्राणा येषां तस्यां गताः शुभे

āśvayukchuklapakṣe yā aṣṭamī mūlasaṃyutā | sā mahānāmikā prāṇā yeṣāṃ tasyāṃ gatāḥ śubhe

O Glückverheißende, der achte Tag der hellen Monatshälfte des Āśvayuja, wenn er mit der Nakṣatra Mūla verbunden ist, heißt „Mahānāmikā“. Gesegnet sind jene, deren Lebenshauch an diesem Tag scheidet.
