Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A devotee performs ugra tapas near the shrine—matted hair, simple cloth, seated in meditation before a liṅga—while Maheśvara’s presence is suggested as a luminous form above the liṅga. The scene implies that any pilgrim can attain similar grace through the same discipline.
The Purāṇa universalizes the example: what a famed devotee attained through tapas and worship is available to others who follow the same path.
The Gautameśvara context within Prabhāsa Kṣetra continues as the implied setting.
Tapas (austerity) combined with samārādhana (proper propitiation/worship) of Śiva.
