Wer dort selbst nach der Vorschrift badet und den Weisen Śāṇḍilya in rechter Weise verehrt—der bewirkt, dass am Tage Ṛṣi-pañcamī eine treue Ehefrau (pativratā), die das Gelübde ordnungsgemäß vollzieht, durch wiederholtes Berühren und erneutes rituelles Reinigen gewiss von der Furcht vor Unreinheit, die mit der Menstruation verbunden ist, befreit wird.
