tatkariṣyāyahaṃ sarvamāhaivaṃ sa janārdanaḥ | ekaikaśaḥ sa vibudhānbhakṣayiṣyati vāḍavaḥ
„All dies werde ich tun“, sprach Janārdana.
Type: kshetra
Scene: Janārdana assents—‘I will do all that’—and the fearsome Vāḍava begins consuming the gods one by one (a controlled, sequential devouring), with devas anxious yet trusting in Viṣṇu’s plan.
Divine governance in Purāṇas emphasizes order through disciplined, non-excessive action.
Prabhāsakṣetra remains the overarching sacred locus of the Māhātmya.
No ritual; the verse records acceptance of a remedial course of action (one-by-one).
