अस्मिन्स्थाने सदा तिष्ठ मुनीनां हितकाम्यया । कंटकाः शोषिता दैत्यास्तेन कंटकशोषिणी । अद्यप्रभृति नामास्तु तेन देवि सदा त्विह
asminsthāne sadā tiṣṭha munīnāṃ hitakāmyayā | kaṃṭakāḥ śoṣitā daityāstena kaṃṭakaśoṣiṇī | adyaprabhṛti nāmāstu tena devi sadā tviha
„Verweile stets an diesem Ort, o Göttin, aus dem Wunsch heraus, den Munis zu nützen. Da du die Daityas — jene ‘Dornen’ — ausgedörrt (vernichtet) hast, soll dein Name hier ‘Kaṇṭakaśoṣiṇī’ sein, ‘Sie, die die Dornen austrocknet’. Von heute an, o Devi, sei dies dein Name, und bleibe hier immerdar.“
