Transliteration

tataḥ sa pṛthivīpālaḥ sāmnā cogreṇa ca svayam | paryapṛcchatsuhṛdvargaṃ pratyajānanna caiva te

Translation

Daraufhin befragte der Beschützer der Erde (der König) seinen Freundeskreis persönlich, bald mit sanften, bald mit strengen Worten; doch sie gestanden die Sache keineswegs ein.
