शंकर उवाच । परितुष्टोऽस्मि ते वत्स स्तोत्रेणानेन शीतगो । वरं वरय भद्रं ते भूयो यत्ते मनोगतम्
śaṃkara uvāca | parituṣṭo'smi te vatsa stotreṇānena śītago | varaṃ varaya bhadraṃ te bhūyo yatte manogatam
Śaṅkara sprach: „O mein Kind, o Śītago (kühle Mondgestalt), durch diesen Hymnus bin ich dir völlig gewogen. Wähle eine Gabe — sie sei dir heilvoll — was immer dein Herz noch begehrt.“
