Type: ghat
Scene: On a Prabhāsa ghāṭa, the performer offers piṇḍas on a kuśa/kāśa base; nearby, brāhmaṇas are seated and served steaming hot rice and dishes with reverence; the sea breeze and temple spire frame the act of ancestral devotion.
Faithful service—piṇḍa offerings and respectful feeding—becomes a channel of merit that supports both ancestors and the performer’s welfare.
The prescriptions are taught within Prabhāsa Kṣetra Māhātmya, presenting Prabhāsa as a proper setting for Pitṛ rites.
Offer piṇḍas in the prepared ritual setting and feed qualified dvijas with warm food, done with śraddhā.
