Īśvara (Śiva); assent to Maṃkī Ṛṣi’s boon-request
Tirtha: Maṃkīśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and sages
Scene: A liṅga inscribed/marked by name is envisioned as enduring for countless kalpas; Mahādeva affirms 'evam astu' and then dissolves from sight within the sanctum, leaving the consecrated presence behind.
A sacred shrine becomes a long-lasting refuge for devotees when consecrated through tapas and confirmed by divine sanction.
The Maṃkī-named liṅga—Maṃkīśvara—whose presence is promised for vast cosmic durations.
The verse implies the sanctity of a name-consecrated liṅga and divine approval; it does not specify a new ritual act beyond the boon.
