Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (Sūrya-upāsanā within the kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Varānanā / addressed lady
Scene: A Sūrya icon near the coast is anointed and gently rubbed with fragrant paste; attendants hold water vessels; the devotee transitions into the bathing rite as priests chant.
Devotion becomes complete when inner reverence is joined to disciplined ritual—mantra and rite together sanctify the worshipper.
Prabhāsakṣetra (Prabhāsa), celebrated in the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa as a supremely meritorious sacred region.
Udvartana (anointing/rubbing) of Sūrya’s form and snāna (ritual bathing) performed with the mantra beginning “mānastoka…”.
