Type: kshetra
Scene: A devoted speaker, hands folded, offers obeisance to the devas and to Brahmā as Paramātman, then begins the sacred discourse to assembled sages.
Sacred instruction should begin with reverence and be grounded in bhakti; humility sanctifies speech.
The verse introduces the forthcoming teaching within Dvārakā Māhātmya, which culminates in Dvārakā’s praise.
Namaskāra (obeisance) to devas and to the supreme principle is presented as an auspicious preface to teaching.
