Listener: Śaunaka and other ṛṣis at Naimiṣāraṇya (implied)
Scene: On a forested mountain peak, Arbuda addresses Vasiṣṭha with folded hands; the sage sits in calm austerity, radiating prasāda, as attendants (nāga/gaṇa-like) watch respectfully.
The highest ‘boon’ is the approval of the righteous; worldly requests are secondary to dhārmic relationship and gratitude.
The Arbuda mountain locale where Arbuda will request the establishment of Nāga-tīrtha fame.
None directly; it introduces the formal request that will define the tīrtha’s public renown and benefits.
