श्रीब्रह्मोवाच । तव कीर्तिसमुच्छेदः संजातोऽद्य धरातले । यावत्कीर्तिर्धरापृष्ठे तावत्स्वर्गे वसेन्नरः
śrībrahmovāca | tava kīrtisamucchedaḥ saṃjāto'dya dharātale | yāvatkīrtirdharāpṛṣṭhe tāvatsvarge vasennaraḥ
Śrī Brahmā sprach: „Heute ist auf Erden der Fortgang deines Ruhmes abgeschnitten worden. Solange der Ruhm (das erworbene Verdienst) auf dem Antlitz der Erde währt, so lange weilt der Mensch im Himmel.“
