अग्नित्यागो व्रतत्यागो वचनत्याग एव च । धर्मत्यागो नैव कार्यः कुर्वन्पतित एव हि

Transliteration

agnityāgo vratatyāgo vacanatyāga eva ca | dharmatyāgo naiva kāryaḥ kurvanpatita eva hi

Translation

Das heilige Feuer aufzugeben, die Gelübde (vrata) aufzugeben und sogar das gegebene Wort zu brechen—nichts davon darf dazu führen, das Dharma aufzugeben. Denn wer das Dharma aufgibt, ist wahrlich gefallen.
