Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 20

वेदोक्तेन विधानेन तां कन्यां समयोजयत् । पाणिग्रहेण विधिना द्विजातिगणसंवृतः

vedoktena vidhānena tāṃ kanyāṃ samayojayat | pāṇigraheṇa vidhinā dvijātigaṇasaṃvṛtaḥ

Nach der in den Veden gelehrten Ordnung verband er jene Jungfrau im Ehebund. Umgeben von Scharen der Zweimalgeborenen wurde das Ritual durch das rechte Pāṇigraha vollendet: das Ergreifen der Hand der Braut.
