Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 91

तच्छ्रुत्वा मन्मुखात्तेन सर्वेषां निग्रहः कृतः । यैः कृतं कदनं भूमौ तव पार्थिव सत्तम । कृतास्ते व्यन्तरा सर्वे पापाहारविहारिणः

tacchrutvā manmukhāttena sarveṣāṃ nigrahaḥ kṛtaḥ | yaiḥ kṛtaṃ kadanaṃ bhūmau tava pārthiva sattama | kṛtāste vyantarā sarve pāpāhāravihāriṇaḥ

Als er es aus meinem eigenen Mund vernahm, zügelte er sie alle. Diejenigen, die auf Erden ein Gemetzel angerichtet hatten—o Bester der Könige—wurden allesamt zu Vyantaras gemacht, umherziehenden Wesen, die von sündhafter Speise leben.
