ततो यज्ञोपवीतं दद्यात् अनेन मंत्रेण । सूत्रतंतुमयं शुद्धं पवित्रमिदमुत्तमम् । यज्ञोपवीतं देवेश प्रगृहाण नमोऽस्तु ते
tato yajñopavītaṃ dadyāt anena maṃtreṇa | sūtrataṃtumayaṃ śuddhaṃ pavitramidamuttamam | yajñopavītaṃ deveśa pragṛhāṇa namo'stu te
Dann soll man das yajñopavīta (heilige Schnur) mit diesem Mantra darbringen: „Dieses vortreffliche yajñopavīta, aus reinen Fäden gefertigt und höchst reinigend—o Herr der Götter, nimm diese heilige Schnur an. Verehrung sei Dir.“
