नैकवस्त्रश्च भुंजीत नाग्नौ होममथाचरेत् । न चार्चयेद्द्विजान्नैव कुर्याद्देवार्चनं बुधः
naikavastraśca bhuṃjīta nāgnau homamathācaret | na cārcayeddvijānnaiva kuryāddevārcanaṃ budhaḥ
Ein weiser Verehrer soll nicht essen, wenn er nur ein einziges Gewand trägt, noch soll er das Feueropfer (homa) auf ungehörige Weise vollziehen. Befindet er sich in einem Zustand, der die Disziplin der māheśvara-Observanz verletzt, soll er weder den Dvijas (Brahmanen) rituelle Verehrung darbringen noch eine förmliche Götterverehrung ausführen.
