Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 52

यथाप्रकृति पुंयोमो यत्नेनापि परस्परम् । साध्यामानो गुणाय स्यादगुणायाप्यसाधितः

yathāprakṛti puṃyomo yatnenāpi parasparam | sādhyāmāno guṇāya syādaguṇāyāpyasādhitaḥ

Gemäß ihrer eigenen Natur können Mann und Frau—selbst wenn sie sich umeinander bemühen—bei rechter Formung und Führung zur Ursache der Tugend werden; ohne rechte Leitung aber ebenso zur Ursache des Mangels.
