Post–Dakṣa-Yajña Developments and the Appeal to Viṣṇu

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It highlights the supremacy of Pati (Śiva) and the proper Shaiva response to divine revelation: immediate surrender, humility, and reverent prostration, showing that even the highest devas honor Śiva as the ultimate refuge.
The verse depicts Saguna Śiva—Śiva perceived in an apprehensible divine form—eliciting bhakti expressed through namaskāra. In Linga-worship, the same attitude is enacted through folded hands, prostration, and offering, recognizing Śiva as present and graciously accessible.
Practice namaskāra with añjali (joined palms) before Śiva or the Śivaliṅga, mentally repeating the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating vinaya (humility) and śaraṇāgati (taking refuge).
