Vīrabhadra and the Battle with the Devas
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
It presents Śiva-smaraṇa (remembering Mahādeva) as a source of fearless strength: even Yama, the lord of death, is confronted when the devotee is anchored in the grace and lordship of Pati (Śiva).
Mahāloka’s power arises from devotion to Saguna Mahādeva—Śiva as the personal Lord who protects His gaṇas. Linga-worship similarly centers the mind on Mahādeva, turning remembrance into living reliance on His presence.
Practice Mahādeva-smaraṇa with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), ideally with vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa, cultivating inner steadiness that overcomes fear and agitation.
