Transliteration

vídad yadī́ sarámā rugṇám adréḥ máhi pā́thaḥ pū́rvyaṃ sadhryàk kaḥ | ágraṃ nayat supády ákṣarāṇām ácchā rávaṃ prathamā́ jānatī́ gāt ||

Translation

Als Saramā die gebrochene Öffnung des Felsens fand — den großen uralten Pfad, geradehin schreitend — wie sollte es anders sein? — da führte sie die festfußigen Silben an die Spitze; als Erste, wissend, ging sie dem Ruf entgegen.
