Sukta 1.31
त्वमग्ने प्रमतिस्त्वं पितासि नस्त्वं वयस्कृत्तव जामयो वयम् । सं त्वा रायः शतिनः सं सहस्रिणः सुवीरं यन्ति व्रतपामदाभ्य ॥
tvám agne prámatís tváṃ pitā́si naḥ tváṃ vayaḥ-kṛ́t táva jāmáyo vayám | sáṃ tvā rā́yaḥ śatínaḥ sáṃ sahasríṇaḥ suvī́raṃ yanti vrata-pā́m adā́bhya ||
Du, o Agni, bist unser leitender Sinn, du bist unser Vater; du bist der Schöpfer unseres Gedeihens – wir sind deine Verwandten. Zu dir strömen die Reichtümer, zu Hunderten und zu Tausenden, heldenkraftbringend, zu dir, dem Hüter des vrata, dem Unbezwinglichen.
