सीतावृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् / Report of Sītā’s Condition and Tokens of Recognition
इति मामब्रवीत्सीता कृशाङ्गी धर्मचारिणी।।।।रावणान्तः पुरे रुद्धा मृगीवोत्फुल्ललोचना।
iti mām abravīt sītā kṛśāṅgī dharmacāriṇī |
rāvaṇāntaḥ pure ruddhā mṛgīvotphullalocanā |
So sprach Sītā zu mir—am Leib ausgezehrt, standhaft im Dharma—eingeschlossen in Rāvaṇas innerem Palast; ihre Augen weit aufgerissen vor Furcht, wie die einer aufgescheuchten Hirschkuh.
The son of the Wind god, Hanuman who was wise in speech heard the words of Rama, offered salutations to Sita in the direction in which she was located and narrated the story about her discovery.
Steadfast dharma under oppression: Sita remains dharmacāriṇī—morally unwavering—even while confined and threatened.
Hanuman concludes a portion of Sita’s spoken message, describing her condition and captivity as she addressed him.
Sita’s moral resilience and purity—her righteousness persists despite fear and physical hardship.
