का च मे जीविते श्रद्धा सुखे वा तं प्रियं विना।भर्तारं सागरान्ताया वसुधायाः प्रियंवदम्।।।।
kā ca me jīvite śraddhā sukhe vā taṃ priyaṃ vinā | bhartāraṃ sāgarāntāyā vasudhāyāḥ priyaṃvadam ||
Welches Interesse kann ich am Leben oder an irgendeinem Vergnügen haben ohne meinen Geliebten, meinen süß sprechenden Ehemann, den Herrn der vom Ozean begrenzten Erde?
"How can I have interest in any kind of pleasure without my sweet-tongued husband, the lord of the whole earth extending up to the ocean.
The verse affirms relational dharma: Sītā’s sense of meaning is anchored in righteous marital bond and truthfulness to that bond, not in personal pleasure or survival.
Sītā contrasts her former life with her present captivity, declaring that without Rāma, life and pleasure have no value.
Single-minded devotion (ekaniṣṭhā) and steadfast love aligned with dharma.
