Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
उपरिष्टाच्छरीरेण छायया चावगाढया।।।।सागरे मारुताविष्टा नौरिवासीत्तदा कपिः।
upariṣṭāc charīreṇa chāyayā cāvagāḍhayā | sāgare mārutāviṣṭā naur ivāsīt tadā kapiḥ ||
Da, mit seinem Körper hoch darüber und seinem tiefen Schatten auf dem Ozean, erschien der Affe wie ein Schiff darunter, vom Wind vorangetrieben.
When the vanara was flying in the sky, his shadow reflected in the ocean looked like aship driven by the wind and sailing on the sea below (as if the lower part of his body was under water and upper part occupied the sky)
