FAQs

It introduces the worship-method (vidhi) of the knowledge-goddess identified by the vīṇā and book, presenting learning and sacred study as a dharmic act that benefits society (lokopakāra).

Bhakti here is framed as attentive listening (śṛṇu) and disciplined practice of a deity’s prescribed worship, directing devotion toward the divine source of wisdom that supports righteous living.

The verse points to vidhi—structured ritual procedure—and the symbolism of the book, aligning with Vedanga-oriented disciplines that preserve and transmit correct learning and recitation through rule-based practice.
