The Recitation of the Thousand Names of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa (Yugala-Sahasranāma) and Śaraṇāgati-Dharma
Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: raudra
It warns that devotion is safeguarded by humility and reverence—toward the guru, sādhus, the Vedas, and fellow devotees—and that presuming the Holy Name will erase deliberate wrongdoing is itself a serious offense.
Bhakti is not only chanting; it includes sādhācāra (right conduct). Unity among Hari’s devotees, honoring the guru and saints, and faith in śāstra are presented as essential supports for pure nāma-bhakti.
The verse reinforces śāstra-niṣṭhā (grounding in Vedic authority) and disciplined practice: do not misuse mantra/nāma as a license for sin, and avoid actions (like slander and sectarian bheda) that break dharmic order.
