Nachdem ich den heiligen Namen Vāsudevas — des Herrn des Universums, der alles gedeihen lässt — ausgesprochen habe, gewähre mir einen Sohn; danach, o Kṛṣṇa, werde ich Dich verkünden und preisen.
Narrative voice within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue (a supplicant’s prayer is being cited/quoted)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It presents Vāsudeva-nāma (the utterance of the Lord’s name) as a spiritually potent act: the devotee approaches the Jagatpati as the source of flourishing and seeks a boon, promising continued praise—showing desire being redirected into devotion.
Bhakti is expressed through nāma-ucchāraṇa (recitation of the divine name) and stuti (praise). The verse models a personal relationship with Kṛṣṇa—requesting, trusting, and then committing to glorification.
It reflects the practical use of mantra/nāma-recitation—linked to correct utterance and sacred speech (a Shiksha/Vyakarana-adjacent concern in Vedanga settings), emphasizing that reciting the divine name is itself an efficacious religious practice.
