Als die Zeit der Mahlzeit gekommen war, begab er sich in Gautamas Nähe. Er aß zusammen mit seinem Lehrer und nahm zuweilen sogar das Übriggebliebene (die Reste des Lehrers) zu sich.
Narada (narrative voice within the Adhyaya context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It highlights guru-sevā (service to the teacher) and humility as essential foundations for sacred learning—approaching the guru at the proper time and accepting even remnants as an act of reverence and discipline.
Though set in a learning context, it models bhakti-like surrender: honoring the guru’s presence and accepting what is given without pride—an attitude that later matures into devoted service to Vishnu and the tradition.
It emphasizes ācāra (proper conduct) as the practical support-system for Vedanga study—discipline, timing, and respectful behavior in a guru’s household, which traditionally safeguards transmission of śikṣā and vyākaraṇa.
