Mantra-Māhātmya and Sādhana of Kārtavīryārjuna
Nyāsa, Yantra, Homa, and Dīpa-Vrata
छन्दोऽमितं कार्तवीर्युर्जुनो देवोऽखिलाप्तिकृत् । चामुंडया षडंगानि चरेत्षड्दीर्घयुक्तया ॥ ९२ ॥
chando'mitaṃ kārtavīryurjuno devo'khilāptikṛt | cāmuṃḍayā ṣaḍaṃgāni caretṣaḍdīrghayuktayā || 92 ||
Die Chandas (vedischen Metren) sind unermesslich; Kartavīrya Arjuna ist ein göttliches Wesen, das alle Erlangungen bewirkt. Zusammen mit Cāmuṇḍā soll man das ṣaḍaṅga (die sechs Glieder) üben, versehen mit sechs langen, ausgedehnten Maßen.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the Vedanga/technical section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates Vedic prosody (Chandas) and the full Vedāṅga curriculum as a sacred discipline—an organized means to preserve, chant, and apply Vedic knowledge correctly for complete attainment (āpti).
By emphasizing correct Vedic recitation and supporting sciences, it indirectly supports Bhakti: accurate mantra, hymn, and stotra usage becomes steadier and more effective when grounded in Chandas and the Vedāṅgas.
Chandas is foregrounded, with an explicit call to cultivate all six Vedāṅgas—Śikṣā (phonetics), Vyākaraṇa (grammar), Chandas (metre), Nirukta (etymology), Kalpa (ritual procedure), and Jyotiṣa (astronomy/astrology for timing).
