Procedure for Lamp-Offering to Hanumān
sājyaiḥ saṃpūjayetpīṭhe pūrvokte pūrvavatprabhum | japto'yaṃ madanakṣobhaṃ nāśayatyeva niścitam || 97 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that correct ritual worship (on the prescribed pīṭha with sājyā offerings) combined with mantra-japa has a direct inner result: pacifying and destroying lust-driven agitation (madana-kṣobha).
Bhakti here is expressed through reverent, rule-guided worship of the Lord (prabhu) and steady japa; devotion is not only emotional but also disciplined, culminating in purification of desire.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: worship is to be done “as previously stated,” on a defined pīṭha, using sājyā (ghee-mixed) offerings, showing the technical precision of Vedic-style worship methods.
