The Explanation of Sandhyā and Related Daily Observances
Saṅdhyā-ādi Nitya-karma-Vidhi
वियद्वाय्वग्नितोयक्ष्माबीजैः सन्मन्त्र्य मन्त्रवित् । मूलेन तस्मात् श्चोतद्भिर्बिन्दुभिस्तत्त्वमुद्रया ॥ ६२ ॥
viyadvāyvagnitoyakṣmābījaiḥ sanmantrya mantravit | mūlena tasmāt ścotadbhirbindubhistattvamudrayā || 62 ||
Ein Mantra-Kundiger soll es ordnungsgemäß mit den Bīja-Mantras von Äther, Luft, Feuer, Wasser und Erde weihen. Danach soll er es mit dem Wurzelmantra (mūla) durch die ‘tattva-mudrā’ versiegeln, indem er die herabtropfenden Bindu-Tropfen verwendet.

It teaches that ritual efficacy depends on systematic sanctification: invoking the five elemental principles (pañcabhūtas) through their bīja-mantras and then sealing the act with the mūla-mantra and tattva-mudrā, integrating cosmology with practice.
While technical, the verse supports bhakti by emphasizing disciplined, reverent consecration—mantra, mudrā, and elemental purity—so worship and offerings become properly empowered and offered with focused devotion.
It highlights applied mantra-śāstra and ritual procedure—correct use of bīja and mūla mantras and the employment of mudrā—skills aligned with Vedāṅga-style precision in recitation and sacramental action.
