Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 43

Śrāddha-prayoga: Niyama, Brāhmaṇa-parīkṣā, Kutapa-kāla, Tithi-nyāya, and Vaiṣṇava-phala

पात्राण्यासादयेत्त्रीणि ह्यर्घाथ पूर्ववद्द्विजः । शन्नोदेव्या जलं क्षिप्त्वा तिलोसीति तिलाक्षिपेत् ॥ ४३ ॥

pātrāṇyāsādayettrīṇi hyarghātha pūrvavaddvijaḥ | śannodevyā jalaṃ kṣiptvā tilosīti tilākṣipet || 43 ||

Zum Darbringen des Arghya soll der Dvija (Zweimalgeborene) wie zuvor drei Gefäße bereitstellen. Während er „śaṃ no devyā…“ rezitiert, gieße er Wasser hinein; dann spreche er „tilo ’si“ und streue Sesamkörner dazu.
